Andrews, Indiana

Originally named Antioch by one of the first pioneers to settle in the region, Andrew Leedy, the area that is now Andrews, Indiana, is a small town located inside Dallas Township. Dallas Township is in Huntington County, along with Warren, Roanoke, and the City of Huntington. The tiny hamlet comprises just over 1,100 friendly residents. The town was first platted in 1853 and renamed Andrews sometime in the 1880s to honor a railroad official after the Wabash Railroad was built through the area.

Because Andrews is such a tiny municipality, the town itself is mostly residential housing, the average values of which are roughly one-fourth of the rest of the country’s housing costs. Because of the low prices and the above-average public schools, Andrews is an attractive city for families with children. The high school is especially known for the students’ reading and language arts proficiency, which placed in the Top 20% of public schools in Indiana.

While there may not be much to do inside the cities’ borders, that doesn’t mean locals are out of luck when it comes to entertainment. Right up the street from the heart of Andrews, there lies an unassuming storefront that from the outside, almost looks like it has been deserted.
